San Diego, United States BAE Systems Full time

WAFCOR IV manages, coordinates, oversees, and enforces the Work Authorization Form (WAF) process for all industrial entities onboard Navy Vessels during ship repair availabilities. The WAFCOR ensures that all Trades and Subcontractors abide by the rules and regulations established by the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM). They verify that all Work Authorization Forms are generated correctly and complete upon receipt and submittal. They are the liaison between Ship’s Force and Repair Activities for WAF processing and to assist in resolving tag-out conflicts. The WAFCOR verifies and ensure that Trades and Subcontractors are working within the boundaries established by the Work Authorization Form process. WAFCORS coordinate and conduct WAF training with the Ship’s Force personnel, Trades, and Subcontractors. They maintain detailed records of opened WAFs and track production work for completion for closing WAFs. The WAFCOR de-conflicts and coordinates joint efforts between Repair Activities which are working multiple jobs on the same systems or conflicting job processes in close proximity. The WAFCOR also makes sure that ship system tagout isolations are correct, ensuring safety of personnel and equipment. They provide guidance to Ships Force for developing system tag outs as required.
WAFCOR IV will be responsible for adding and defining the scope of work for each job based on technical specification, drawing and other technical documentation for LCS repair project and PMAV work. They will identify isolation points to de-energize systems and components, generate tags in eSOMS and E-Tag system, and confirm isolation and safety measures with Ships Force. Delays to the authorization of production work directly affect the success of the availability so WAFCOR IV must manage time effectively and be capable of working in a high stress environment.
The WAFCOR IV will be responsible for submitting WAF status daily report for all assigned projects, evaluating workload requirements, making judgment calls based on interpretation of the JFMM, TUM, NAVSEA Standard Items and BAE Policies.
