- First Things First (Arizona Early Childhood Development and Health Board) is one of the critical state partners in creating a child and family‐centered, comprehensive, collaborative and high‐quality early childhood system that supports the development, health and early education of all Arizona’s children. - The Community Engagement Coordinator may have the opportunity to work remotely with regular travel across the regional area including some in-office work at the Pima Region office at 3610 N Prince Village Place, Suite 100, Tucson, AZ 85719._

Job Summary:

- This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures._

Job Duties:

- Engage the community through tailored public presentations, workshops and communication tactics that introduce FTF, broadly educate about needs of young children, and inspire action in support of early childhood and FTF.
- Create and cultivate relationships with individuals and groups that are trusted sources for families and/or are community influencers.
- Leverage networking at organizational meetings and special events, maintain regular follow up communications, distribute engagement materials, develop and promote earned media and success stories.
- Collaborate and coordinate with FTF teams and community partners to meet shared awareness goals, including identified community engagement related systems change efforts.
- Develop engagement plans for strategy implementation and individual goals.
- Complete and present reports on progress and outcomes to the regional partnership council.
- Represent First Things First as a local spokesperson on the importance of early childhood and the mission and goals of the agency.
- Promote the work of community engagement through a variety of media channels including social media, newsletters, media outreach and other audience engagement platforms.
- Additional opportunities as they arise beyond typical duties.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

- Undergraduate degree or equivalent in communications, public relations, community engagement or related field preferred.
- Experience demonstrating interpersonal communication with both individuals and groups (i.e. active listening, engaging diverse audiences and building relationships).
- Experience in initiating connections and relationships, preferably within the Pima area and surrounding communities.
- Ability to showcase the skill of innovation, influence and motivating others toward action.
- Bilingual in Spanish or other languages preferred.
- This position requires day and evening travel with flexible hours with some evenings and weekends, within the Phoenix area and surrounding areas.
