Pay Range
$206,490 - $265,188 Annually
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.
**Job Description**:
In this role you will
Provide strategic and technical direction for the FSC and participate in strategy development and execution for the Laboratory, in collaboration with the FSC Director and Deputy Director.
Ensure all project and program operations and performance standards are realistically set and attained leading to the effective achievement of objectives and are executed in compliance with Laboratory and Department of Energy (DOE) requirements.
Provide operational leadership, management and planning for the DoD FSC budget and for interactions with the stakeholder community, including DoD, DoS, DHS, NNSA, and National Laboratory partners as directed.
Develop impactful projects while mentoring FSC staff in contributing to these projects. Create strong relationships by partnering and advocating with laboratory programs.
Interact regularly and manage relationships with professional colleagues, supervisors/leads, other functional areas, organization management, and outside vendors to ensure that customer needs are understood, project activities are tracked sufficiently, and results are high quality and delivered on a timely basis.
Responsible for ensuring that the FSC is organizationally prepared to respond to national needs with appropriate skills that can be applied within an operationally relevant timescale and meet security requirements.
Provide leadership, management, planning, and support of activities required to meet programmatic and personnel administration goals, including need-to-know, material classification, resource and infrastructure needs, input to staffing needs, and guiding analytically and operationally focused international collaborations.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate elements of communication, project management, risk management, and technical rigor are applied to ensure accountability and quality of products delivered.
Maintain general oversight and personal commitment to the goals of integrated Safety Management, Integrated Safeguards and Security Management, compliance with all ES&H and QC regulations, good business practices, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top-Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire and an active Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry, or a closely related field or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Extensive experience in developing and managing multi-year projects involving interdisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers and supporting staff, including in-depth knowledge of budget, programming, and budgeting for sponsors within the intelligence, defense, and law enforcement communities.
Extensive experience with managing DoD projects, including writing proposals, communicating with DoD staff, and putting together strong teams to meet the needs of this sponsor.
Extensive problem solving, analytical, technical, and organizational skills.
Significant experience working with technical elements of the intelligence, defense, and law enforcement communities.
Expert communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills necessary to effectively present, explain, advocate, and advise senior management or sponsors both internal and external to the Laboratory.
Knowledge of the laboratory, matrix system, and key discipline Directorates at LLNL.
Ability to travel extensively in support of the FSC.

Active Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
