The NAMI Prince George’s County Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the NAMI Ending the Silence Program (ETS) for each of the three (3) targeted audiences--students, faculty, and families—at ten (10) high schools in Prince George’s County during the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years.

**Background Information**

Ending the Silence presentations are designed for three specific audiences--students, school staff, and families. For students, ETS is offered in-person or virtually as a 50-minute presentation. For school staff, a one-hour, in-person presentation is offered. For families with high school aged youth, the one-hour presentation is offered only in-person. The engaging presentation is given by two trained presenters—one who facilitates the discussion and provides educational information using a short video, and the other is a youth or young adult living with a mental health condition who shares their personal story concerning the journey to recovery. The presentation covers mental health and suicide warning signs, facts, and statistics, how to talk with your children, and how to work with school staff. The audience can ask questions and gain understanding about an often-misunderstood topic. The NAMI ETS Program is an evidence-based practice.

**Key Roles/Responsibilities**:

- Recruit new presenters (facilitator/coach and youth living with mental health condition) for the ETS Program.
- Schedule and coordinate training for the new presenters.
- Supervise NAMI ETS presenters throughout the process.
- Ensure fidelity to the ETS program model.
- Plan and organize all ETS presentations.
- Secure program materials and supplies.
- Develop data collection methods for reporting outcomes/performance measures.
- Serve as NAMI Prince George’s County liaison with the high school administration.
- Schedule ETS presentations with high school administrators, health educators, counselors, school nurses at targeted high schools—DuVal, Flowers, Parkdale, Eleanor Roosevelt, Bowie, Northwestern, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy (CMIT) North/Laurel, and others.
- Outreach to promote interest and participation in the ETS program and presentations.
- Attend and oversee all ETS presentations.
- Work with NAMI Core and System of Care (SOC) Program Coordinators to market the programs and trainings (e.g., social media ads, direct outreach, partner organizations, website, etc.)
- Work with students and teachers to develop mental health awareness activities and messaging after the ETS presentation.
- Share with the NAMI Executive Director and NAMI SOC Program Manager the

ETS Program successes, positive responses and/or challenges.

**Requirements**:

- College education or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid computer skills (MS Office Suite, Zoom & Microsoft Teams video communications, and Gmail).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of and commitment to community mental health awareness, understanding, and support.
- Ability to work with volunteers and diverse populations.
- Familiarity with NAMI, its mission, goals, and programs.
- Commitment to teamwork and professional development.
- Completion of deliverables as scheduled.

**Work Environment & Compensation**
- The Program Coordinator for the ETS Program is a part-time position, primarily working remotely, 15-20 hours per week, for 18 months at $1800 per month.
- Must have access to a personal vehicle and hold a valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel to various high schools within Prince George’s County.
- Must participate (occasionally) at high school events to promote the NAMI ETS program.
- Must have a reliable personal computer and printer to perform work.
- Occasional work from the NAMI Prince George’s County office in Bowie and local high schools.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $1,800.00 per month

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
