BSU Careers in Health Program Coordinator

Our student-focused department requires a candidate with a strong commitment to excellence in support and advancement for pre-professional students. The candidate will work closely with other faculty in the coordination of mentorship of students and will facilitate and/or provide coaching, personal development, pre-professional exam assistance, application and post-graduate program guidance, and professional mentorship for students that fit Program criteria. The Coordinator will develop a robust and sustainable pipeline for student success by brokering and maintaining value-added partnerships with graduate programs and technical schools as well as foster program development under advisement from institutional stakeholders. Coordination responsibilities include managing recruitment efforts, student progress tracking, program activities, organizing student participation in external opportunities such as mentored research, internships, shadowing, co-ops and industry placements, and the successful execution of additional activities as required to support student success. The Coordinator will also monitor student engagement, track student progress, and prepare and complete pertinent reports on all Program activities.
Minimum Qualifications
These are the job duties for required of the position
Education
* A Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry, or closely related STEM discipline required
* A Master of Science degree preferred
Experience
* Demonstrated expertise in program management and career advisement.
* Experience working with various stakeholders such as students, faculty, and staff.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
* Demonstrated leadership ability, communication and organizational skills.
* Demonstrated program coordination, with expertise in project management and leadership.
* Ability to plan and execute schedules effectively.
* Ability to work independently with a strong work ethic.
* Ability to interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty, administrators and external constituents, with confidentiality and poise.
* Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines as required. Ability to track student performance and report activities.
