**Description**

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs highly complex consultative services and technical assistance work related to public information and complaints. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing the Public Information and Complaints (PIC) program and providing consultative serves and technical assistance to division staff, government agencies, legislative offices, and the general public. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

- Organizes, gathers, prepares, and disseminates all elections division public information requests.
- Reviews, categorizes, and responds, under the direction of the division director, to all received complaints relating to elections.
- Maintains a thorough tracking system for all agency correspondence including public information requests and complaints to ensure timely response or action.
- Assists in the planning and preparation of reports, correspondence, and requested information.
- Collects divisional data and conducts necessary data analysis to ensure all public information and complaint data is accurate.
- Provides technical and customer service support with the public information, complaints, and records management system policies and procedures.
- Reviews administrative policies and procedures related to job responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective practices.
- Assists with division incoming calls, ascertains the nature of calls, and takes appropriate action in responding to inquiry or referring callers to appropriate personnel.
- Provides efficient, professional and courteous customer service support at all times.
- Performs other work as assigned by program management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
- Experience and education may be substituted for one another.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience in public information laws and/or the election process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and compile data, and pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to set up and maintain complex filing and tracking systems.
- Ability to work independently and operate effectively within established guidelines.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and be an effective team player.
