General Engineering company specializing in grading, underground wet utilities, flatwork, landscaping, and other sitework scope areas is looking for a Director of Construction who is seeking a long-term opportunity. Project focus areas include homebuilding subdivisions, public works projects and a variety of other clientele in and around the greater SF Bay Area counties.

**General Responsibilities**
- Utilize industry contacts, relationships, and online bid sources to generate appropriate project leads for estimating.
- Maintain a pipeline of continuous bidding to support appropriate future work and cash flow needs.
- Pre-job planning with management team to review scope of work, manpower needs and schedule. Set appropriate timelines and assign staff to handle the scope and complexity of the project.
- Oversight of projects at a high level from beginning to end including budget, costs, general performance and overall progress.
- Be the pre-construction lead to provide insight from estimating to construction team. Review and approve the pre-mobilization activities.
- Ensure that the day-to-day operations of projects are covered adequately by Construction Managers and Foremen.
- Visit sites regularly to ensure projects achieve budget, schedule, quality, and profitability objectives.
- Represent MBE to Owners(s), Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors.
- Interact with client representatives for clarification of work and problem solving. Maintain high level of customer service and positive relationships with all clients.
- Request acquisition approval from upper management for vehicle and equipment assets.
- Mentor, train, and coach staff to perform to, or exceed MBE standards. Monitor and evaluate construction management team.
- Actively maintain an effective labor force for all projects. Assign new hire training to the proper training crew.

**Administrative Responsibilities**
- Coordinate and supervise estimating staff to produce project estimates.
- Review contract, insurance, and risk management requirements with General Manager.
- Produce baseline schedules as necessary and monitor schedule performance.
- Regularly review Cash Flow, Accounts Receivable and other financial reports with upper management.
- Coordinate all company and policy matters with the General Manager.
- Coordinate all billing procedures and safety matters with the Office Manager.
- Interact with shop personnel to ensure proper equipment levels.

Experience required:

Pay: $150,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
