**Overview**

City Teaching Alliance (CTA) is seeking a current Alum to serve as Summer Mentor Director for Cohort 2024 during Summer Institute. The Summer Mentor Director plays a critical role supporting Summer Mentors and residents through City Teaching Alliance, Summer Institute, and Baltimore City. The Summer Mentor Director leads Summer Mentors in building community with residents, planning PLCs and events, and supporting growth and development.

**Responsibilities**

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist the Mentors by:

- In collaboration with the AD of Fellow Experience, lead the hiring of all Mentor positions
- Plan and execute the Mentor orientation sessions prior to SI-Move in Day
- Coordinating times, dates, and spaces for weekly PLC nights, mentor check-ins, office hours and weekend events
- Provide mentors with feedback, guidance, and direction as needed
- Hold a check-in meeting with mentors once per week
- Meet with the AD of Fellow Experience to liaise the needs of residents and/or fellows

The SMD will also have their own group of residents in a PLC this Summer. This means you will also directly assist the residents and/or fellows by:

- Plan and facilitate weekly PLC meetings where residents build community, share their experiences, and work through challenges
- Engage mentees in critical conversations to promote continuous learning
- Provide residents with non-evaluative, actionable feedback
- Plan and facilitate weekend social activities for residents
- Attend key Summer Institute events and activities
- Document resident celebrations and concerns
- Provide weekly office hours at MICA to residents who may have questions, concerns, or simply want to share their experiences
- Conduct 1 clinical site visit per week

**Anticipated Dates**:June 14, 2024 though August 2, 2024

**Location**:Baltimore, MD office. _Flexible/hybrid work available, but must be physically based in the Baltimore region by the start date. We do not provide relocation costs._

**Compensation**:$39.88/hour

**Time Commitment:
- 3 hours prior to Summer Institute for Summer Mentor planning and hiring
- 7 hours/week for all 8 weeks of Summer Institute
- Attend key Summer Institute events and activities
- June 14, 10:00-2:00 Move-in Day (2hr time slot - not whole 4 hrs)
- June 14, 3:00-5:00 Welcome BBQ
- June 17th, 11:45am-12:30pm - Navigating Your Residency Year panel
- June 17th, 12:30pm-2pm - Welcome/lunch with PLC groups
- June 28th, 12:30-1:30pm - Lunch #2 with PLC groups
- Every Friday 7/5-8/2, 11am-12pm - PLC Groups
- 1 hour/week - Office Hours at MICA
- Weekends - Mentor-Led Social Events (divided among mentors - you will not need to be present every weekend)
- Friday, August 2nd, 5-8pm - Closing Ceremony
- Saturday, August 3rd, 9am-12pm Move-Out Day
- Optional events
- Friday, June 21, 4:00-6:00 Happy Hour
- Friday, July 12, 1:30-3:30 Halfway Day Celebration
