DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES FOR GIFTED EDUCATION
General Purpose:
To provide gifted students with advanced learning and enrichment activities, experiences, and opportunities in specifically designated areas of curriculum, helping those students use their special intellectual gifts as fully as possible.
Main Job Task and Responsibilities for Gifted Education:

- Meets on a regularly scheduled basis with students identified as being capable of work in the area of competence at a level higher than that of the regular curriculum.
- Sets up such problems, experiments, projects, and activities related to student needs, interests, and capabilities.
- Identifies areas of student strengths and weaknesses, and plans further learning experiences and activities.
- Arrange for field trips as appropriate and feasible.
- Processes and maintains such classroom textbooks, supplies, and materials as are needed, following established school procedures.
- Assists with district procedures to identify students eligible to participate in the gifted program and arrange for placement.
- Engages as a member of the regular and gifted education PLC.

Main Job Task and Responsibilities for English Learner Education:
General Purpose:
To increase English proficiency for English Learners across all environments in preparation to speak English as quickly and proficiently as possible in order to access educational curriculum.
1.Create Individualized Academic Plans for all EL students.
2.Complete Notification of English Proficiency Test Results and ELD Placement Eligibility forms for each student. File one copy and mail the second copy to parents.
3.Teach lessons
- Newcomers 30 minutes-1 hour per day. Non-newcomers-30 minutes, twice a week.
4.Annual WIDA assessment training (ACCESS and Screener).
5.Administer WIDA Screener within 30 days of arrival of new students.
6.Administer WIDA ACCESS test each winter to all students (active and monitor).
7.Work with the District testing administrator to procure testing materials.
8.Provide support to teachers and staff who are working with EL students.
9.Update LAU plan annually.

Primary Location To Be Determined, Gifted could be 2-8th grade, ELL could be at any level/building
Salary Range Per Year
Shift Type Half time - 25 hours per week total, 15 hours per week for gifted, 10 hours per week for EL
