**Overview**:
SWX is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Complex Safety Manager to join their client's team. The Complex Safety Manager provides safety leadership and strategic direction by leading the operations’ safety Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts at the site level.

The Complex Safety Manager will facilitate the development and sustainability of the safety culture, supporting the goals, behaviors, and actions of the clients Safety Program and will act as a change agent to accelerate best practice sharing.

This position will lead site management with the current safety systems and work to enhance and ensure safety and quality production. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation.

**Job Requirements**:

- An accredited 4-year college degree in one of the following Occupational Safety, Health, Environmental Technologies, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred or equivalent work experience in safety management.
- 5+ years’ experience in environmental, health and safety management preferred.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA hazard communications, accident investigation, and safety training methods.
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate well verbally and in writing; bilingual (English/Spanish) necessary. Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry best practices.
- Proficient in MS Office, data mining and report formatting.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from multi-level Business Partners.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to work a varied work-hour schedule including weekends, as business support needs arise.
- The ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
- OSHA 10 Hour / OSHA 30 Hour, First Aid/CPR Certification is preferred.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in a proactive local safety strategy that drives the location(s) safe, quality production.
- Lead incident investigations, identify root cause and ensure corrective actions are applied.
- Participates in developing a vision for safety, includes continual enhancement of established programs and consistent implementation of new programs within a team environment.
- The Complex Safety Manager will facilitate the development and sustainability of the safety culture, supporting the goals, behaviors, and actions of the clients Safety Program and will act as a change agent to accelerate best practice sharing.
- Facilitate the safety programs for the site; recommend the design and implementation of new programs to prevent Team member injuries and minimize company losses.
- Monitors compliance of safety programs through audits, inspections, spot checks, and regular plant walk-throughs.
- Inspect equipment, working conditions, and maintain OSHA files and supporting documents.
- Regularly inspect and review plant operations to assure compliance of all permits operation and equipment are within state and federal regulations.
- Analyze incident statistics to establish necessary precautions and changes needed for facility safety.
- Communicates environmental, health and safety procedure changes to Business Partners; ensures all environmental, health safety policies, procedures, and practices are reviewed on an annual basis or as changes and updates are required by practices or regulation and are rolled-out in a timely manner.
- Conduct environmental, health and safety inspections and procedural audits and have the skills, knowledge, and ability to take immediate corrective action if/when required.
- Reviews all safety documents, policies, procedures, and incident reports. Drive change through developing corrective actions related to root cause, indirect cause, and direct cause, as well as providing training on corrective actions to affected Team members.
- Investigates all environmental, health and safety-related incidents, reviews incident reports and completes necessary regulatory documentation.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of applicable federal and state specific environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Maintain and update the emergency action plan, PPE hazard assessment, JSAs, SDS sheets, etc.
- Conduct emergency drills.
- Conduct lockout/tagout audits and ensure specific LOTO procedures are accurate and up to date.
- Be involved in new equipment purchases and ensure equipment is properly guarded before ownership takes place.
- Organize and maintain safety team meetings on a regular basis.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
