Animal Medical Center of Austin is a fun and energetic general practice clinic that is designed with pets and people in mind: warm, friendly, and highly positive. Our day is filled with routine appointments and procedures as well as urgent care and emergency cases, so someone with a self-driven and self-starter work ethic has the opportunity to shine and grow within our practice
This position is part time, 30 hours weekly with a schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.
**Here is What Your day May Consist of**:
- Intravenous catheter placement and venipuncture
- Administer drugs (IV, IM SQ, Oral)
- Assists with radiographic procedures
- Perform diagnostic blood, urine, and fecal testing
- Provide care to hospitalized patients
- Client communication and education
- Admitting and discharging patients
- Maintain appropriate medical records for all hospitalized and critical patients
- Jump in when needed and assist co-workers and veterinarian in any/all medical care - both appointments and procedures.
**Here is What You Will Bring to the Position**:
- Completion of a two-year or four-year American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) veterinary technology program.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills towards clients, other staff members, DVM's and management.
- Minimum of one-year of veterinary experience.
- Compassion, drive, maturity, and team focused.
- Minimal direction and has the ability to multi-task, as well as an above average understanding of efficiency and time management.
- Skilled venipuncture ability, IVC placement, anesthesia/vital monitoring, surgical recovery, radiology technique, laboratory, dentistry, etc.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, able to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Self-starter mentality and takes initiative to complete tasks on their own.
- Willing to grow and adapt through challenges and changes while maintaining a positive and optimistic attitude.
