The Field Museum is searching for a full-time **Visitor Services Representative **to join our team

The Visitor Services Department is responsible for providing world-class service to our visitors, generating revenue through ticket sales, and tracking museum attendance.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide excellent face-to-face customer service for Museum visitors, members, and donors
- Process ticket orders and membership sales (cash or credit card) using the Museum's ticketing software ACME and Raiser's Edge at the admission doors, Visitor Center, and special exhibits
- Facilitate the admission process by providing information to visitors as they wait in line
- Monitor and maintain the flow of guests into ticketed exhibitions
- Operate the call center in the Visitor Center, handle incoming calls, transfer calls when necessary, and log calls
- Maintain the lost and found operations and logging of items
- Maintain the vending machine service in providing and keeping the accuracy of funds
- Staff coat check operations - check bags, coats and manage stroller/wheelchair rentals (seasonal)
- Implement museum COVID-19 guidelines and procedures
- Operate virtual reality experience - sell tickets, assist guests on and off the experience, and assist with clean-up
- Break down and set up queues
- Handle accessibility-related questions and tracking of sensory bags
- Handle grievance procedures
- Additional responsibilities as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or equivalency _required_
- Two to three years of proven customer service experience in a similar environment _required_
- Must be available weekends and holidays, 8:45am-5:15pm
- Must be comfortable working with the public and following safety protocols, including COVID-19 protocols (wearing a mask)
- Must possess excellent communication skills when interacting with visitors and staff both in person and via telephone
- Familiarity with or ability to use Windows-based computer programs
- Must have previous cash-handling experience and strong math skills
- Must be able to stand, sit, and move to different posts throughout a shift
- This position requires standing for long periods of time (2+ hours)
- Second language is a _plus_. First aid and/or CPR training a _plus_
