**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:
**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
As a Construction Inspector, your role is essential to ensure the quality and compliance of construction projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:

- Conducting thorough inspections of construction sites, including roadways, bridges, tunnels, and facilities, to verify adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Documenting and reporting any deviations, defects, or issues discovered during inspections.
- Collaborating with senior inspectors and project managers to confirm that construction activities meet safety regulations and project requirements.
- Assisting with the review and interpretation of construction plans, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Maintaining clear and accurate inspection records and reports for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Participating in team meetings and safety briefings to foster a safe, collaborative work environment.
- Communicating effectively with contractors, project stakeholders, and other team members to address construction-related concerns and provide guidance.

**CORE REQUIREMENTS**:

- A current and valid driver's license
- A high school diploma or a high school equivalent certification
- The ability to obtain the appropriate certification within the Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP), such as Asphalt Field Technician, Concrete Field Technician, Soils & Aggregate Compaction Technician, or Pavement Marking Technician, based on the specific project assignment,
- The ability to possess the Maryland Department of the Environment's Responsible Person Certification (formerly "Green Card") (to be obtained within one year)
- The ability to complete the MDOT SHA Traffic Manager's (TMA) Training within one year
- Must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, walking over rough and uneven terrain, standing for up to 12 hours a day on occasion, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting, using hands to grasp, reaching, raising hands above the head, sitting, climbing, and balancing
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains is necessary
- Proficiency in math and English
