**About The Role**:

We are seeking a new family member with a deep “soup to nuts” understanding of the apparel industry product creation process inclusive of product development and production processes and knowledge of the competitive landscape as well as a fierce competitive drive to be the best. In this role we are seeking a person with a knack for analytics and a natural passion for optimization in a merchandising capacity. This person will also possess proven product management experience and expertise in understanding and interpreting consumer insight and market intelligence to maximize business growth and market share in accordance with melin's core product pillars; best in class materials, unique details. and innovative design and performance.

Reporting to the President and Cross-Functional leaders, you will drive to our creation calendars and define the in season and long-term product strategy for melin’s product offering across all business channels; DTC, Key Big Box Accounts, Best in Class SPP collaborations, Core Specialty and MPP (Co Branded) division. You will bring the most innovative and high quality headwear from idea through to fruition.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Expertise in interpreting sales data, inventory and sell through to inform real time merchandising and product line management plans and future product assortment strategies and actions.
- Proven business management experience with P&L responsibility.
- Leading a global team, managing product creation, merchandising strategy, and design/development process.
- Strong business orientation, analytical and commercial aptitude.
- Strong strategic leadership skills with the proven ability to recruit, retain, motivate, and develop a diverse world-class team rallied around delivering the best without compromise.
- Responsible for product realization including the planning and evolution of product lines. Accountable for the profitability of the business, including Initial Gross Margin %, Gross Revenue, tight sku counts, and OPEX. Provides leadership to managers, supervisors and/or professional staff. Develops category plans, including business, production, and organizational priorities.
- Obsessing the needs of the consumer, informed by deep consumer insights.
- Bringing the long-term vision of the consumer segments to life aligned with consumer-led Product Line Architecture and Product Line Plans.
- Defining the long-term Product Franchise strategy deeply informed by Marketplace insights and opportunities and aligned with a comprehensive Innovation pipeline.
- Leading and executing product strategy to include a rolling, multi-season approach to product mix; franchise and classification excellence, and managing for product essentials, newness, innovation & exploration.
- Ensuring consumer relevance and cadence of products and stories that integrate and provide clear consumer value propositions to create solutions as well as energy and excitement within our product matrix.
- Focus on Product segmentation strategy in coordination with sales, marketing, and Ecommerce departments.
- Leading and empowering a diverse and high-performing Product Merchandising management function, while fostering strong cross-functional partnerships.
- Drive Horizon calendar of new product concepts as well as long range product goals and expansions.
- Building and sustaining strong partnerships with key cross functional shareholders; (Design Innovation, Development, Marketing, Planning, Digital).
- Lead and manage product development, product design teams maintaining a collaborative work environment.
- Direct and manage project timelines, margin targets, sustainability requirements, product quality standards, and revenue plans according to annual corporate goals.
- Be the expert resource within the Product Team on all development including materials, construction techniques, product standards, tooling, manufacturing processes, factory capabilities, and partner relationships.
- Manage Pre-Season and seasonal planning work within the Go to Market (GTM) calendar to ensure hand-off readiness to product development of new materials, innovation projects, and fabrication methods prior to seasonal product brief kick-offs.
