The Kent Conservation District, a government subdivision of the State of Delaware, is seeking applicants for contractual services with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), Division of Climate, Coastal and Energy/Coastal Programs Section is seeking a three-year term Restoration Project Coordinator.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The responsibilities of this position are to develop project selection criteria, project proposals, and project performance measures for Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) funding that support the goals of the various state habitat and wildlife conversation plans and strategies as applicable. Collectively, these plans collate stakeholder-driven restoration and conservation goals for the state of Delaware to help protect wetland and estuarine habitat to support healthy coastal ecosystems as well as preserve recreational opportunities.
This position will coordinate habitat restoration projects funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) within DNREC, as well as with key external stakeholders representing National Estuary Programs, nonprofits, local governments, and academia. Specific responsibilities of this position would include:
- Developing restoration project prioritization and selection criteria.
- Update existing Prioritization Criteria and Restoration Plans.
- Identify and develop restoration project proposals for IIJA-funded project competitions.
- Develop performance measures for IIJA-funded restoration projects.
- Monitor and track the results of IIJA-funded restoration projects, specifically those projects where the Restoration Project Coordinator or research reserve or coastal management staff have provided significant technical assistance during the project development or implementation phases.
- Coordination with underserved communities through regular meetings and community outreach.
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
- At least three years’ experience as a planner OR at least three years’ experience in a planning function.
- Experience in having responsibility for a most complex planning project (complexity is to be determined based on variables such as discipline, population, fiscal impact, geographic area, social impact, planning horizon, public involvement, research and analysis, and the nature of the project team).
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The Kent Conservation District does not provide sponsorship for holders of H-1B Visas.
**BENEFIT**:
The Kent Conservation District offers a comprehensive benefit package including: 37.5-hour work week with flexible scheduling options, 15 paid vacation days the first year, 9 paid holidays a year, and 15 paid sick leave days per year.
Pension and health insurance are also included in the benefits package. Direct Deposit of paychecks will be required as a condition of employment for new employees.
