**Premise Health **is proud to partner with **Cummins Engine **and is seeking a **Part**-Time Medical Translator - Bilingual Spanish** to work in our Health and Wellness Center located in **Mineral Point, WI**
**Schedule**:
- Part-time - 20 hours per week during clinic hours
- Clinic Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
- Flexibility to work on Saturday on as needed basis
**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**
Interprets and translates information between limited English-speaking patients and medical personnel or others as necessary. Translates written materials as needed. May advocate for patients and informs staff and patients of relevant cultural issues. Requires competency in English and Spanish languages.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
- Provides medical and general language interpretation and translation services for staff, patients and their families.
- Assesses and monitors patients understanding of information conveyed.
- Ensures communication between vendor partner and Premise Health is translated accurately.
- Advises medical personnel about any cultural issues that may impact patient care.
- Records and monitors interpretation activities according to medical standards
- May be required to translate written documents.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**:
- High school diploma
- Must obtain a medical translation/interpreter certification (CMT or CMI) within 12 months of employment
**Experience**:
- Requires fluency in Spanish in addition to English
- Minimum 1 year experience providing translation services in the medical field
