**Primary Purpose**
- The Parent Engagement Coordinator fosters positive relationships between the school district, parents, and the community. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance parent involvement and engagement across all district schools. The Coordinator will also provide district-level support and oversight to Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) and other parent interest groups, promoting collaboration and communication between schools and parents.- RESPONSIBILITIES:
**Major Responsibilities and Duties**

**Parent Engagement**
- 1. Design and execute comprehensive plans to increase parent involvement and engagement at campus and school activities.
- 2. Serve as the primary point of contact and resource for PTAs and parent interest groups across the district. Offer guidance, training, and support to enhance their effectiveness and impact.
- 3. Establish effective communication channels between the district, schools, parents, and community stakeholders. Disseminate relevant information, resources, and opportunities to parents and parent groups.
- 4. Plan, coordinate, and facilitate district-wide parent engagement events, workshops, and meetings. Collaborate with schools and community partners to ensure successful outcomes.
- 5. Work closely with school administrators, teachers, and staff to align parent engagement efforts with school goals and initiatives. Provide support and resources to help schools strengthen their partnerships with parents.
- 6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of parent engagement initiatives and activities. Collect feedback from parents and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and refinement.
- 7. Assists with recruiting, communicating, and mobilizing parents to support District initiatives.**Community Relations**:

- 1. Assist with the coordination, promotion, and documentation of special events, conferences and programs helping to publicize and promote any performances, exhibitions or displays.
- 2. Plan, promote and execute events for stakeholders which could include community, staff and/or students
- 3. Establish and maintain open communication with Lamar CISD staff, parents, and community members.
- 4. Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- 5. Demonstrate awareness of district-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
- 6. Serve as a representative on district and community committees as required.
- 7. Model high standards of professional integrity and maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
- 8. Assist with district media coverage.
- 9. Maintain district media coverage files.**Policies, Reports, and Law**
- 1. Develop and publicize reports related to the performance of the district and articulate district goals and objectives.
- 2. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- 3. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records and other documents as required.- EXPERIENCE:
**Minimum Experience**:

- Experience working in parent engagement, community outreach, or related fields
- Minimum of 2-3 years of prior related experience
- Experience with project management and implementation
- QUALIFICATIONS:
**Minimum Education/Certification**:

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Eligible for coverage under the District’s vehicle insurance program

- Skilled in writing, communications and community relations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong judgment/decision-making, organizational and project management skills
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Knowledge of best practices in parent involvement, family engagement, and community partnerships
- Ability to interpret data
- Ability to meet established deadlines while working on multiple projects
- Ability to conform to shifting priorities and timelines
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and excel in a fast-paced environment
