The focus of the Grounds Field Tech is to assist in the performance of all tasks related to maintaining any and all athletic fields pertaining to Calvary Chapel/Calvary Christian Academy as well as any offsite locations in ways that would be pleasing and glorifying to God.

**You Will**:

- Maintain all Athletic/recreation Fields in which Calvary/CCA will use to include - North Field/South Field, Drive Lanes, Prayer Walk, Courtyard, and West Campus. (25% of your time)
- Be the direct contact with the CCA Athletic program and Calvary Chapel ministries which require field usage (5% of your time)
- Participate in all tasks related to maintaining the areas outside the church buildings including cleaning walkways, parking lots, and roadways, landscaping grounds, lawn maintenance, operation of irrigation systems and grounds maintenance equipment (15% of your time)
- Be involved with the installation of new plants, trees, and grass associated with the Calvary Chapel Fields areas. Work includes excavation, material handling, planting, and establishing irrigation to newly landscaped areas (10% of your time)
- Utilize various tools, equipment, and materials to accomplish the work. Assist with the service and proper care of tools and equipment. Responsible for assuring that these items are cleaned, serviced, and properly stored after each use (10% of your time)
- Help with the installation of plants, trees, grass, and the maintenance of any and all athletic areas (10% of your time)
- Receive work assignments from the Ground Manager and work with a team to accomplish goals (5% of your time)
- Provide training, instruction and leadership to others within the Grounds team in proper work practices, operation of equipment and tools, and safe work methods (5% of your time)
- Participate in church workdays, special events and emergency situations (5% of your time)

**You Have**:

- A knowledge of turf maintenance and cleanliness of turf related products, landscaping athletic fields; field maintenance; operation of irrigation systems and grounds maintenance equipment
- A basic knowledge of various athletic field equipment and maintenance: athletic field mowers, chemical sprayers, top dressers, aeration equipment etc.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Knowledge of athletic field pesticide and fertilizer knowledge
- Ability to assist in leading others and serve as an example
- Willingness and ability to perform physical work
- Good organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff, temporary employees, volunteers, and outside vendors
- Flexible with good time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- The ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for a long period of time, bend
- The ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Will adhere to all aspects of Employee Handbook including “Expectations and Work Standards”

**What you are required to know**:

- The Grounds department works very closely with the various ministries of Calvary Chapel
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments (including rain, heat etc.)
- May be asked to work outside of normal schedule due to special events, church services, and disaster relief events.
