This position is in the Fleet Management Administration, Department of Public Works. The incumbent of this position is the Associate Administrator for Fleet Service Operations and has ongoing responsibility to manage and direct a comprehensive, citywide fleet maintenance and repair program. Fleet Service Operations is responsible for maintaining the 3,000 vehicles of the district government fleet (excluding police, fire, and emergency vehicles).

**Duties and Responsibilities**

The incumbent in the position is responsible for managing and directing a comprehensive citywide fleet management operations program. Planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance services of the city's fleet; managing the modules of the computerized vehicle maintenance management system (FASTER) directly related to the fleet service operation; provide preventive and preparatory equipment maintenance services; provides citywide repair services; and tracks and maintains an inventory of parts and equipment. Oversees the tracking of fleet management operations goals and objectives.

Develops equipment, staffing, operating and service plans and objectives for fleet maintenance services; develops and implements long range plans; formulates, reviews, and modifies Administration policies and procedures governing fleet maintenance; develops and implements maintenance procedures and practices to assure effective performance of services. Develops and prepares the annual preliminary budget for the fleet maintenance operations; enforces the allocations and charge formulas for the 1'fee for service" operations; analyzes and reviews budgetary and financial data to determine whether income projections will.be met, whether cost overruns especially in the areas of equipment and supplies are anticipated, and whether fees charged by Vendors are aligned with contractual agreements.

**Qualifications and Education**

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the CS-14 grade level in the District of Columbia government service, or equivalent public or private sector. Specialized experience is experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position and has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

**Licenses and Certifications**

The incumbent of this position is required to hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
