Job Overview:
We are seeking Secondary Operators to join our team.

**Job Summary**: The Plastic Profile Extrusion Secondary Operator plays a vital role in the post-extrusion processing of plastic profiles. They are responsible for ensuring the quality and conformity of extruded profiles through various secondary operations such as cutting, trimming, cooling, inspection, and packaging. The secondary operator works closely with primary extrusion operators to maintain efficiency and product quality in the manufacturing process.

**Pay: $17.00/hr plus $1.00/hr shift premium**

**Responsibilities**:

- **Trimming and Cutting**:

- Trim excess material from extruded profiles using cutting tools such as saws, knives, or shears.
- Cut profiles to specified lengths according to production requirements and quality standards.
- **Cooling and Shaping**:

- Transfer extruded profiles to cooling racks, water baths, or other cooling devices to facilitate proper cooling and setting.
- Assist in shaping profiles into desired forms using jigs, molds, or fixtures as required.
- **Quality Control**:

- Conduct visual inspections of extruded profiles for defects, irregularities, or imperfections.
- Measure dimensions and perform quality checks using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming products for further evaluation, rework, or disposal.
- **Packaging and Labeling**:

- Package finished profiles according to customer specifications, product requirements, or company standards.
- Label packages with relevant information such as part numbers, batch codes, quantity, and other required markings.
- **Machine Operation Assistance**:

- Assist primary extrusion operators in setting up and operating extrusion machinery when required.
- Monitor equipment during operation, including temperature, speed, and material flow, and report any abnormalities or malfunctions.
- **Housekeeping and Maintenance**:

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including cleaning equipment and removing waste materials.
- Assist in routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustment, and replacement of machine parts as needed.
- **Safety Compliance**:

- Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices at all times.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training is a plus.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, particularly in plastics extrusion or related processes, is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools, measuring devices, and equipment used in extrusion operations.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices and willingness to comply with safety regulations.

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
