Campus Aide
Part Time, Non-Exempt
**Reports to**: Elementary Assistant Principal
**Education/Experience Required/Preferred**: A high school degree and experience working with children is required. Experience in a school setting is preferred.

**Pay Rate**: $17.28/hr

**General Responsibilities**

**Provides support and supervision to students before and after school hours and during recesses and lunch with an emphasis on the safety and the well being of each individual student.**

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Monitors student behavior in childcare, at recess and at the lunch area
- Enforces school policies and procedures
- Performs safety checks of playground and lunch areas and informs appropriate departments of possible hazards
- Corrects improper behavior and reports major infractions to the proper teacher and/or administrator
- Develops trusting relationships with students, parents, and other staff
- Provides support for classroom teachers as needed
- Communicates appropriately with teachers and administrators regarding student behavior
- Maintains confidentiality of student information, behavior, and discipline issues
- Campus Aide positions may require work in the following additional areas:

- Cafeteria
- Offices
- Traffic
- Library
- Ability to develop trusting, nurturing relationships with students and adults
- High degree of integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Self motivation, initiative and good problem solving/decision making skills
- Ability to respond calmly and thoughtfully to challenging situations or emergencies
- High degree of flexibility and punctuality
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to anticipate student behavior and intervene before problems arise
- Attention to detail
- Ability to focus on multiple situations simultaneously
- Ability to determine and follow proper channels of authority/chain of command
- Ability to stand for long periods and work outside is required
- Experience working with Elementary aged children in a school or church setting
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (will provide training, if needed)
- Minimum education: High School Diploma

This position is an hourly, non-exempt position which reports directly to the Elementary Assistant Principal.
