Heavy Equipment Operator/laborer

Job Overview:
**Duties**:

- Operate and maintain various heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, articulated dump trucks, water trucks, motor-graders, rollers, and loaders.
- Curb machine experience highly desired plus, with a 4 month bonus if individual can successfully prove to operate the machine all summer/fall. Must be and team player and able to finish concrete and not afraid to occasionally labor.
- Perform tasks including water, storm and sanitary utilities, load trucks, prepare dirt grade, finish grade, and other construction-related activities.
- Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently on job sites. Check out and grease your own equipment daily.
- Labor grade with shovel, rake etc. Concrete finishing ability a bonus.
- Knows how to use lasers and or GPS a benefit.
- Able to show up consistently and on time to jobsites in the Elkhart and St. Joseph county.
- Collaborate with the construction team to meet project deadlines.

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience in heavy equipment operation, specifically with bulldozers, excavators, articulated dump trucks, and laboring experience in grade and pipe installation.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining equipment in a construction environment.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues that may arise during operations and communicate them to the maintenance staff.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment on construction sites and communicate problems or issues to supervisors.

Offerings:

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
