**Duties**:
**As a Supervisory International Transportation Specialist, you will**:

- Determines the program objectives for the Office’s transportation trade and direct foreign investment agenda, develops plans of work for achieving program goals, sets priorities, prepares work schedules; makes determinations on resources among various negotiations based on Departmental and Office priorities; assesses prospective impact of DOT positions in trade negotiations or foreign direct investment reviews on the U.S. industry and on travelers and shippers; and determines program emphases that strengthen the competitive position of the U.S. industry, eliminate restrictions and discriminatory and unfair competitive practices faced by the U.S. industry.
- Plan, lead and conduct economic studies and research on transportation, including the international transportation system to understand the impact on U.S. transportation stakeholders of changes in U.S. trade policy and negotiating positions; change in the world trading system and changes in regional trading systems.
- Provide expert advice to the Under Secretary, the Assistant Secretary for Aviation and International Affairs, the Deputy Assistant Secretary and the Office Director, as well as other government agencies and nongovernmental interests on international transportation trade and foreign direct investment issues.

This position is in the DOT building, which sits directly across the street from the Metro and a few blocks away from the National’s Baseball stadium. **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:

**Qualifications**:
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications.

**To qualify for the Grade 15**, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:

- Experience negotiating international agreements between the United States and foreign Governments involving international transportation and international trade OR foreign direct investment impact on the U.S. transportation sector; and analyzing and evaluating the economic AND competitive impacts of U.S. transportation industry policies or regulations.
