**SUMMARY**

To perform daily sanitation and cleaning requirements in order to maintain a high standard for cleanliness and appearance inside and out by working with all departments to comply with Federal, State, and Local regulations to insure a low cost and high quality product to the customer.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES **include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides daily follow-up for sanitation checklists

Ensures control process which prevents unsanitary conditions and contamination are maintained.

Able to work with chemicals of varying concentrations (soaps, sanitizers, caustic, acids ). Test chemicals to make sure they are being used at the proper concentration.

Ability to work in cold and hot environments for prolonged periods of time.

Clean drains on a regular basis to prevent contamination and pest harborage.

Assists in the cleaning of product spillage as necessary

Reports deficiencies in equipment which cause spillage

Addresses the emptying of trash receptacles as necessary

Maintains building interior by dusting, and polishing equipment and fixtures, washing window, counters, walls, ceilings, overheads (using a scissor lift w/ harness), sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, cleaning and resupplying rest rooms.

Assists production department in cleaning and maintaining equipment operational readiness as necessary.

Clean barrels and trays/equipment using industrial dishwasher.

Assists maintenance department with sanitation repairs as necessary

Maintains proper housekeeping of work area throughout the shift.

Assists in maintaining appropriate level of sanitation supplies

Maintains a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations and using personal protective equipment as necessary

Documents cleaning actions; noting areas requiring additional care or monitoring and communicating to the appropriate level of supervision.

Assists in disassembling, sanitizing and assembling equipment as is necessary by established standards of operation.

Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing sanitation results in conjunction with all departments.

**QUALIFICATIONS** - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. **EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE** - Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS** - Ability to read a limited number of two
- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS** - Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS** - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Continual movement to meet sanitation/cleaning requirements. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Weights over 35 pounds are lifted in tandem. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT** - The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud (Hearing Protection is provided).

**OTHER CONSIDERATIONS** - Employee must maintain all mandated quality and safety requirements as established by Federal, State, Contract manufacturers and corporate law, policy and standards as instructed by management and supervision.
