Working closely with the Director of Partnerships and Executive Director, this dynamic position is central to promoting Henrico CASA’s mission of advocating for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. This position involves engaging with a diverse range of constituents, including volunteers, donors, and community partners. We are seeking an excellent writer and communicator with a passion for community engagement, social media, and a knack for strategic outreach.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Content Creation and Management**
- Develop, organize, and schedule compelling image and video content for various communication channels.
- Plan quarterly impact themes and monthly newsletter/blog topics.
- Generate daily social media posts, ensuring consistent and engaging online presence.
- Maintain a database of inspirational quotes, data, and CASA case stories.

**Communication and Outreach**

Coordinate and maintain established communication streams, including:

- Monthly announcements for volunteers and Board members.
- Monthly e-newsletter for the broader community.
- Timely updates for volunteers with registration links for trainings and professional development.
- Weekly blog posts with SEO optimization and readability enhancements.
- Schedule social media posts for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube.

**Volunteer Recruitment and Retention**
- Act as the initial contact for prospective volunteers, managing their onboarding process.
- Maintain a spreadsheet of prospective volunteers, tracking interactions and follow-ups.
- Plan and facilitate advocate information sessions and ensure training calendars are current on the website.
- Develop and send anniversary and birthday communications, including potential token gifts and videos.
- Assist in planning the annual mandatory training event for volunteers.

**Database and Website Management**
- Oversee the Constant Contact database, managing welcome series, list segments, and data accuracy.
- Analyze communication reports to refine strategies and campaigns.
- Regularly audit and update the website and intranet, collaborating with staff and marketing partners to integrate industry trends.
- Write and upload weekly blog posts, ensuring up-to-date event information and maintaining event updates.

**Impact Reporting and Annual Campaigns**
- Create quarterly impact postcards and content for annual campaigns, including end-of-year letters and social media initiatives.
- Coordinate Giving Tuesday and donor acknowledgements.

**Media Relations**
- Cultivate relationships with media professionals to enhance public relations efforts.
- Draft and distribute press releases for key events and milestones.
- Collaborate with Henrico County PR for broader distribution and maintain strong ties with the County PR team.

**Fundraising and Event Support**
- Support engagement activities for the organization’s fundraising campaigns throughout the year.
- Represent CASA at recruitment, volunteer, and community events.

**State Marketing Team Participation**
- Participate in quarterly state marketing calls.
- Manage advocate shoutouts and post regularly on state social media accounts.

**Miscellaneous**
- Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and review monthly dashboard reports to adjust strategies.
- Foster connections with other nonprofits for potential collaborations.
- Implement national marketing campaigns and solicitations for events and raffles.
- Assist with advocate pre-service training as needed.

**Qualifications**
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest) and content management systems (Buffer, CANVA, Constant Contact).
- Experience with database management and website maintenance (WordPress).
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with media and community partners.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, professional demeanor with the ability to work independently as well as possessing the ability to collaborate and interact with staff, volunteers, board members and the public.
- Passion for community engagement and advocacy.
