**Project Overview**:
Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Bechtel’s scope of service in Sentinel’s current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program.

A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. We use our expertise to help our customers securely and effectively transform mission delivery.

**Job Summary**:
**Major Responsibilities**:

- Provides technical support to safety studies, health assessment studies, and project risk assessments.
- Coordinates safety requirements with subcontracts, engineering, and operations personnel as assigned.
- Provides safety technical support and assistance to construction.
- Participates in meetings with customers, project team members, and contractors/subcontractors to advise them of safety requirements that may affect project design, schedule, and cost.
- Drafts ES&H procedures, risk reduction plans, safety awareness training, and technical reports.
- Conducts safety inspections/assessments of project construction activities to monitor compliance with applicable safety and health requirements including contractual commitments, permits, and the project's ES&H procedures.
- Calibrate and use safety and health instrumentation, recording data in accordance with records retention policies and procedures.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and less than 1 year of relevant experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience

**Required Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge of safety and health procedures, engineering systems, principles, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of national safety laws/regulations and regulatory agencies' processes and responsibilities, industry standards/practices for safety and health compliance, and best management practices for minimizing potential safety risks during project execution.
- Basic knowledge in air sampling and use of direct reading instruments.
- Knowledge of construction systems, methods, and work processes.
- Experience in managing and/or providing technical oversight of safety and/or health.
- Knowledge of planning, procedures, and execution in a highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials and physical risk exposures and Personal Protective Equipment standards.
- Skilled in oral and written communication (bilingual ability a plus).
- Has obtained or will obtain (within a year) a professional certification from an accredited organization such as a CHST.
- Has obtained an OSHA 30 - Hour Certification within the last 2 years.
- Must be able to walk a substantial distance, walk on uneven ground, climb 30+ foot ladders, crawl, and be on their feet the majority of the shift. This is a field safety position with confined space and fall protection activities that will be a requirement of the position.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
