Health & Human Services Department - **_Now Hiring_**_The City of Portland’s Health & Human Services Department is hiring for full-Time (37.5 hrs), project positions as Community Health Promotion Specialists to provide outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness in Portland.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- This position will be a pivotal role in the exciting new Encampment Crisis Response Team efforts and work collaboratively with community partners.
- They will provide outreach and education to these individuals and serve as a liaison between the unhoused community and City of Portland programs.

**Requirements**:

- Strong oral and written skills are essential.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community members, providers, physicians, public health staff and consumers.
- Must be able to do outreach and travel by car to encampments, agencies, and private providers.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Experience using personal computers and data based software.
- Individuals with lived experience and/or experience working directly with the unhoused community are strongly encouraged to apply. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and have a valid Maine driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record and have a personal vehicle available for work use.

**The schedule for these positions will be Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm.

Pro-Tech Union position - Grade 6 - Starting rate of $25.50 hourly.
