**Duties**:
As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:

- Serve as an IT technical expert in providing expertise in the development and implementation of information security policies and procedures.
- Ensure measurable progress in meeting the requirements of Section 8 of Executive Order (EO) 14028 on Improving the Nation's Cybersecurity and OMB Memorandum 21-31 (M-21-31) Improving the Federal Government's Investigative and Remediation Capabilities Related to Cybersecurity Responsibilities.
- Provide active coordination with the TSSSOC Director and TSSSOC Deputy Director on cybersecurity projects.
- Create new security methods and criteria for cybersecurity governance when needed and acts as an expert in interpreting policy and guidelines for Treasury cybersecurity programs.
- Consult with top management officials to develop strategies and policies that govern implementation of security and reliability procedures throughout Treasury.

**Qualifications**:

- You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
- SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service**.** Specialized Experience for this position includes:

- **Experience creating security methods and criteria for cybersecurity governance to monitor analytics for early detection and remediation of malicious threats; AND**:

- **Experience working with a decentralized group in order to ensure cybersecurity compliance.**

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé.
- In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.- Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

- Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
- Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

**Education**:
The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
