**Duties**:

The major duties include but are not limited to:

- Manages and leads initiatives/processes/procedures and medical support staff related to Outpatient Services;
- Performs the full range of supervisory responsibilities to include but not limited to plans the work to be accomplished; sets and adjust short/long term priorities; works with Supervisory staff to prepare schedules and action plans for completion of work; balances workload; makes selections for subordinate positions; performance evaluation; provides advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters; hears and resolves minor complaints and grievances; identifies staff training needs, etc.;
- Assists in advising clinical staff on VA regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to patient care medical administrative matters and serves as a Team Advocate when current policies impair efficient and effective patient care;
- Ensures accurate, timely, and consistent data is entered into the healthcare facility's database;
- Makes daily and frequent personal and telephone contact with variety of individuals including but not limited to clinical staff, technical support staff, local Union officials, Veteran patient and families of patients, and Veteran Service specialist;
- Facilitates and investigates patient complaints on issues and prepares written or telephonic response;
- Coordinates a quality assurance program for the assigned areas of responsibility through data collection, data management, monitoring, tracking, analysis, and data interpretation;
- Oversees the HAS Training team to ensure staff are properly trained on the requirements of the VHA Scheduling Directive and that they can complete all applicable scheduling responsibilities;
- Conducts special studies designed to identify opportunities to improve customer service and process quality;
- Ensures staff members update the demographic information of each Veteran patient that checks in for appointments by utilizing the pre-registration menu and gathers insurance information;
- Works closely with all personnel within the service to assure that efficient and quality medical care is given to the Veteran population;
- Inspects work areas for physical hazards/unsafe conditions and takes corrective actions immediately, keeping all parties notified; and,
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

**Work Schedule**:Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
