**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Utilize CollaborateMD software to process medical claims for mental health services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing regulations.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for mental health patients, including Medicaid and private insurance plans.
- Review and analyze patient medical records to accurately assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes for billing purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure proper documentation of services rendered.
- Follow up on outstanding claims, denials, and appeals to maximize reimbursement for mental health services.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies relevant to mental health billing.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders regarding billing inquiries and concerns.
- Generate billing reports and financial analyses to support decision-making processes within the organization.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, with a focus on mental health services.
- Proficiency in utilizing CollaborateMD and various payer portals.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding principles, with the ability to accurately assign codes for mental health diagnoses and treatments.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes, including Medicaid and commercial insurance plans.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in medical billing and coding preferred.
