Job Summary:
The Arizona Attorney General’s Office Operation Division/Budget & Finance Section is seeking an Accounting Specialist 2. This position is responsible for payroll and travel related activities. Reviews, prepares and inputs payroll, travel and employee reimbursement claims into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) including leave payouts, prior period adjustments, overtime requests, travel claims, and employee expense reimbursements. Will be responsible for running various payroll, travel and employee reimbursement related reports to identify inconsistencies and errors through the use of InfoAdvantage, Data Warehouse, HRIS and Crystal Reports. Will responsible for maintaining the travel and employee reimbursement logs. Will need to ensure that all claims are in compliance with the State of Arizona Accounting Manual (SAAM), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and all applicable Federal and State laws, policies, and procedures. Position may also be assigned components of accounts payable and general ledger.
- This position may be eligible for Remote Work two days a week, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures._

Job Duties:

- Logs in all Travel Claims, 509s, Untimely Filed Claims, Employee Reimbursement Claims.
- Reviews travel claims and employee reimbursement claims for accuracy and complete the "Agency Travel Use Only" portion of the travel claim. Then input the travel claims into HRIS.
- Review payroll prior period adjustments and other payroll manual adjustments and input them into HRIS.
- Update the Travel & Employee Reimbursement Logs after the close of every pay period to indicate the claims that have been paid. Review the log for any unpaid claims to ensure all are paid and processed timely.
- Reconcile the claims processed in HRIS with the PR135 report.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
