**About Pizza Port Brewing Company**
Back in March of 1987 Gina and Vince Marsaglia, a pair of siblings in their 20’s, bought a struggling pizza place in the sleepy coastal town of Solana Beach, just north of San Diego. From a funky storefront on the famous Pacific Coast Highway the duo ran the “Pizza Port” with a classic menu of pizza and chicken wings to which they added their own “San Diego” twist. Early on, free space in the restaurant area was used to dabble in “home” brewing. Eventually, we were brewing more than could reasonably be consumed at “home”. So, we transitioned into the brewpub business. Pizza Port Brewing Company was born when the Pizza Port location offered its first craft-brewed beers to patrons in 1992.
Our Pizza Port locations are known for simple hand-built picnic tables and a hodge-podge décor of surf-related paraphernalia almost at odds with the sophisticated flavors of our food. Pizza Port is devoted to total customer satisfaction by providing the highest quality and the best service humanly possible while having too much fun We take ultimate pride in our standards by offering a completely unique dining and drinking experience. **Currently hiring for a Kitchen Shift Manager at our Imperial Beach Pizza Port location.**
**Job Summary - **Kitchen Managers are responsible for ensuring and providing excellent customer service at the Pizza Port Brewing location to make Pizza Port Brewing Company the first choice for enjoying craft beer and amazing pizza all while having too much FUN. To achieve this goal, Kitchen Managers are required to ensure kitchen operations run smoothly, support a clean, safe, and positive kitchen environment and ensure employees are working efficiently and at the highest quality standards. Kitchen Managers must be able to prioritize work, resolve customer issues efficiently, and maintain the best possible attitude in all situations. These observant and bright-minded individuals will consistently maintain a professional, respectful, and courteous attitude in all situations.
**Essential Job duties/responsibilities**:
- Meet and greet customers with a friendly and helpful attitude
- Perform, delegate and coordinate all kitchen duties including: Kitchen ingredients are fully stocked; Prep dough; Assist customers; Answer phones; Spin dough out
- Ensure that all food is being prepared in a timely and organized manner while adhering to food handler safety standards.
- Ensure employees are taking breaks and rotating positions as needed.
- Coordinate shift change for a smooth transition. Once relived of your position, complete any prep work that was left unfinished.
- Ensure make tables are clean and fully stocked.
- Use good judgment, assess situations and take appropriate action.
- Maintain a clean, safe and positive work environment
**Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Positive attitude and friendly personality with ability to communicate to all levels in the company
- Good interpersonal skills, including professionalism in dealing with team members, vendors, distributors, the public, support staff, and company management
- Excellent observation skills and use of good judgment to make effective/safe/sound decisions
- Ability to remain calm during stressful or intense situations
- Passion for tasty grub and amazing craft beers
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
- Availability to work a flexible schedule
**Other Considerations**
While performing the duties of this job, the Kitchen Manager is required to frequently stand; walk; observe, speak, and listen. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Must obtain a food handler’s certificate.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $17.75 per hour
Expected hours: 15 - 35 per week
