**The Team You’ll Work With**
The Office of the Chief of Staff to the Mayor consists of a team dedicated to advancing and executing
the Administration’s agenda. The Office manages executive operations pertaining to the Mayor’s
policies, agenda, schedule, events, and day-to-day needs. The team led by the Mayor’s Chief of Staff
coordinates the operations of the Office of International Affairs, the Office of Operations, the Office of
Special Projects and Community Events, the Office of Citywide Event Coordination and Management,
Gracie Mansion, and the Office of Correspondence, the Office of Engagement, the Office of Emerging
Markets, the Office of Sports, Wellness, and Recreation, and the Office of Asylum Seeker Operations.

**The Problems You’ll Solve**
Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the Mayor (COS), the Associate Chief of Strategic Operations (ACSO)
plays a crucial role in the leadership team. This role will collaborate closely with various Mayor’s Office
units and liaise with the Deputy Chiefs of Staff to devise and implement strategic initiatives to optimize
operations and drive efficiency across the COS’ portfolio. In addition to completing special projects for
the team, the ACSO will summarize unit needs via reports and relevant data as provided by the DCOS
team and produce background and position memos and fact sheets to support executive decision
- making.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Develop integrated work plans across all aspects of the COS portfolio.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute operational improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure alignment and integration of strategies.
- Develop concept notes and proposals that define financial and human capital resources
- necessary to implement initiatives.- Contribute to high priority projects.
- Step in to provide strategic, tactical and project management.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative research on local, state, and federal policies within the
- portfolio.- Prepare materials for the Chief of Staff in an organized manner, including drafting memos,
- remarks, and correspondence.- Draft speaking points and public-facing materials
- Serve as the primary liaison to Deputy Chiefs of Staff to monitor progress on projects and
- provide applicable support and resources.- Other duties as assigned.

- Preferred:
- Knowledge of and networks in the philanthropic and nonprofit sector
- Ability to quickly absorb complex, technical documents and brief senior staff.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Research and/or analytical experience.
- Masters degree.
- Experience developing and managing multi-stakeholder initiatives.

**Salary**
The City of New York Office of the Mayor’s compensation package includes a market competitive
salary, equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits. Our cash compensation range for this role
is **$140,000 to $150,000**.
