Within Underwriting, their work can involve general underwriting, fraud detection, endorsement processing, claims coverage verification and various other projects. They have knowledge of multiple internal systems within GEICO and need to be familiar with the guidelines for the multiple states they are responsible for handling.

**Responsibilities**:

- Serve as the people leader for roughly 100 associates - Each Underwriting Manager will have roughly 100 associates that report to them and they are responsible for ensuring they have the right support to be successful in their roles. This includes coaching, mentorship, staff adjustment and driving performance.
- Communicate business context and vision - Act as change agents to communicate the business’s current state, the vision, and their perspective on how effectively existing solutions address current customer and business needs.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations - The Underwriting Manager works with our state product teams to ensure that all state regulations are being met and will work to adjust our systems and handling for any new regulatory updates that are released. The Underwriting Manager is expected to be an expert on guidelines within the states that they lead.
- Utilize data to optimize production - Be self-motivated to regularly challenge our current handling and determine the best ways to underwrite our policies that remains state compliant while advancing our business forward and creating a positive customer experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 5+ years of personal auto insurance experience
- 3+ years of experience in Insurance Underwriting (Servicing/Underwriting) Leadership
- Must be able to work on-site 4x per week to support all associates
- Knowledge and experience in auto underwriting handling including rating, risk evaluation and developing targeted actions to drive performance.
- Strong communication skills to foster relationships with a variety of stakeholders including management, associates and other departments within GEICO
- Ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex problems with the use of data to drive decision making and quantify outcomes of solutions implemented.

$89,000.00 - $158,000.00
