Dane County Waste & Renewables in Madison WI has a full-time (1.0 FTE) vacancy for an Account Clerk III.
**The position is primarily located at the Dane County landfill.**
The eligible list created from this posting may be used for future Account Clerk III vacancies for the next six (6) months.

DEFINITIONS
AIRPORT: Perform varied and critical, highly detailed accounting work involved in the keeping and reviewing of financial records and processing documents involving financial transactions; and to do related work as required.
DISTRICT ATTORNEY (Restitution Clerk): Perform varied and very responsible administrative work necessary in keeping and reviewing financial records and other documents involved in white collar related crimes and other crimes with complex losses and restitution requests; and to do related work as required.
SHERIFF'S OFFICE (Sheriff's Office Security): Perform varied and very responsible administrative work involved in keeping and reviewing of financial records and processing documents involving financial transactions; and to do related work as required.
BADGER PRAIRIE HEALTH CARE CENTER: This position performs varied and very responsible administrative and financial work involved in all medical billing functions and collections of the facility; serves as the facility resource for Medicare, Medicaid and other commercial insurance eligibility and to do related work as required.
WASTE & RENEWABLES: Performs varied financial and administrative responsibilities such as processing invoices and deposits, excellent customer service, inventory management, contracting and purchasing, financial and compliance reporting, data collection and cash management; support new employee orientation and payroll; and collaborate and resolve technology issues.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Gathers, assembles, tabulates, proofs, extends, balances, summarizes, and posts fiscal and related data; makes involved arithmetical computations; audits documents for proper revenue and expenditure classifications; codes data according to prescribed accounting procedures; audits and corrects payroll vouchers; prepares utility bills; receives and accounts for payments; audits time and work reports and codes labor, equipment, and other costs for proper accounting distribution; collects, balances, and accounts for warrants and funds; makes deposits and reconciles bank statements; prepares worksheets on expenditures, receipts and the status of funds; prepares regular and special financial statements; analyzes and interprets varied fiscal policies, laws and regulations; explains financial and accounting procedures to other employees and the public; deals directly with banks and vendors; posts and maintains journals, subsidiary and control ledgers; manages cash flow; compiles, checks and tabulates budgetary estimates and allotments; uses a variety of office machines including the typewriter, adding and bookkeeping machines, cash registers, calculators, scanners, radios and personal computers.

Any combination equivalent to an associate degree in accounting and one (1) year work experience keeping fiscal records that includes demonstrated experience with double entry bookkeeping systems and complex fiscal policies and regulations in a financial or legal related field.
**Special Requirements**:
Must have a valid driver’s license, or access to reliable personal transportation, or equivalent. Some positions may require work on nights, weekends and holidays.
