Water Truck Operator

**Company Overview**
We are a heavy-equipment contracting company, specializing in 6x6 water trucks. Our operations encompass Orange County, L.A. County, and the Inland Empire. We provide services to general engineering contractors in the commercial land development sector.
**General Description**
We are seeking an experienced operator of heavy equipment / industrial equipment to join our team of water truck operators, as an independent contractor. This role currently operates out of Rancho Mission Viejo in Orange County. Experience driving a water truck is not mandatory, although applicants should have work history that includes operating some form of large equipment. Training will be provided.
**Daily Duties**
- Pre-shift vehicle inspection to verify equipment is in working order.
- Communicate with the site foreman to receive daily instructions.
- Distribute water to all necessary areas of the job site, for grading purposes as well as dust control.
- Assist with any relevant task, as directed by the foreman.
**Minimum Requirements**
- Prior experience operating equipment (water truck experience not mandatory).
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to commute to Rancho Mission Viejo.
- Ability to work upwards of 10 hours a day.
- Ability to climb in and out of an elevated drivers cab, and operate water levers while simultaneously driving.
- Ability to lift upwards of 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a workday.
- Must be comfortable in both hot and cold work environments (outdoor temps can range from 40 - 100 degrees fahrenheit).
- Must be comfortable working in noisy conditions (upwards of 100 decibels).
- Must be capable of working independently with little supervision.
- Must be safety-oriented and strictly follow all rules of a job site, including: Wearing proper PPE, maintaining a high level of caution at all times but especially while driving, reporting any safety issue immediately to a foreman.
**Schedule**
Monday thru Friday 7am - 530pm.
Job sites operate almost exclusively on a Monday - Friday schedule, typically starting at 7am. Shift length will vary by day but will most often last either 8 or 10 hours.
**Compensation**
$35/hr
This position operates as an independent contractor (1099). Pay cycle is weekly starting on the second week of work.
