Position Description
CGI Federal is seeking a Deputy Project Manager to support the Project Manager in coordinating project activities, managing resources, and ensuring timely completion within budget. You'll also assist in stakeholder communication, risk mitigation, and fostering a productive team environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Assists the Project Manager in the execution of project tasks.
- Cultivates a strategic partnership with the Director to support project objectives.
- Provides timely updates to the Director regarding significant issues.
- Supervises the development of project schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Collaborates with the Project Manager to implement strategic guidance and vision for the project team.
- Facilitates program integration among task areas and technical teams.
- Supports the implementation of innovative processes to enhance project planning, organization, and performance monitoring.
- Ensures compliance with project requirements related to cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
- Analyzes deviations from the project plan, initiates corrective actions, and forecasts potential impacts on project deliverables.
- Promotes effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration among diverse groups with competing priorities.
- Assists the Project Manager in staffing activities, including forecasting staff needs.
- Participates in evaluating staff performance, career development, and appraisal processes.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- MBA or MS/MA degree in Management, Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- At least twelve (12) years of professional experience supporting complex IT projects, with a minimum of three (3) years in supervisory roles managing diverse project teams.
- Strong technical background, including familiarity with systems design, cybersecurity, software development, and web technologies.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for client-facing and internal communications.
- Strong organizational abilities with a focus on attention to detail and multitasking.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $140,000 - $170,000
