Lavelle School for the Blind located in Bronx, NY serves students with and without visual impairments with additional disabilities, aged 3 to 21.

Lavelle School for the Blind has an opening for a Payroll Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the processing of electronic payroll using ADP Workforce Now
- Perform payroll calculations in addition to proper and accurate payroll codification of employee wages and pay
- Work with the human resource generalist to ensure payroll pay policies/procedures and time and attendance records are properly reflected in the payroll
- Work collaboratively with accountant on W-2 review and accuracy at year end
- Prepare and record journal entries and invoices associated with payroll and employee benefits (ex. health and dental insurance)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

- Minimum of an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, a Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Proficiency in ADP Work Force Now
- ADP Certified a plus
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ practical experience in payroll processing and time and attendance systems
- Excel experience is required
- Fund EZ or QuickBooks a plus
- Experience in human resources and schools a plus

Skills and Competencies:

- Strong problem-solving, analytical and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive situations, collaborate as well as work independently
- Ability to multitask

Salary and Benefits:

- Salary range: $55,000 to $60,000
