Laguna College of Art + Design, is seeking a full-time experienced Dean of Student Affairs. The College is located in an internationally recognized arts colony in Laguna Beach, California and offers a diversity of majors in Animation, Graphic Design and Digital Media, Fine Art, Game Art, Illustration, and Entertainment Design.

**Position Summary**:
This is a multifaceted position that provides campus leadership in vital areas of student services at LCAD. The Dean of Student Affairs oversees student life, residence life, counseling services, academic support services, disabilities services, career services, and internship programs; leads community standards policy making; manages the Director of Student Life + Conduct in the administration, management, and case-hearing and resolution of student conduct cases; serves as Title IX Coordinator and leads corresponding campus awareness, education, and training; ensures and supports an inclusive environment among all students so that the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion are incorporated into all aspects of student affairs and the student experience; serves as advocate for student affairs within the academic and administrative structure of the College. The incumbent will serve actively on designated school-wide committees and working-groups and engage and coordinate with partners across campus including in the areas of Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management, Business Office, Institutional Research, Facilities Management, Campus Security, and the Office of Human Resources. This position will report to the President.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Student Affairs**
- Supervise the Director of Student Life + Conduct, Director of Career Services, Academic Success Coordinator, School Counselor, Residence Life Coordinator, RAs, and student workers.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the development of student affairs programs and initiatives to ensure services to students are consistent with the mission of the College, meet their needs, and promote positive learning and student development.
- Engage in assessment of departmental programs and services and assist in institutional assessment and using the evidenced-based results to improve performance and develop new initiatives.
- Create and adjust policies and practices across the department in coordination with student affairs staff where needed and appropriate.
- Engage with Academic Affairs to ensure the success of both curricular and co
- curricular experiences for students.
- Take a leadership role in developing and managing LCAD orientation programs for first-year, transfer, and international students in collaboration with other campus departments that serve the transitional needs of students.
- Work in partnership with Campus Safety to manage student emergencies, planning, and response efforts alongside other Student Affairs staff.
- Provide appropriate professional development opportunities to student affairs staff to ensure that all staff are current with best practices in their respective areas.
- Serve on institutional committees/task forces as necessary including: Orientation Committee, Student Success Committee, Retention Committee, and others as assigned.
- Develop and maintain appropriate vendor relations for goods and services germane to student affairs including LCAD shuttle/van, contracted communication, and data/document management needs, etc.
- Direct appropriate communication and deliver campus announcements to all internal constituencies including to students, their families, staff, and faculty.

**Title IX Coordination**
- Oversee Title IX efforts including the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies, procedures, and practices that comply with federal and state legislation, regulation, and case law requiring the prompt and equitable resolution of all complaints pursuant to Title IX.
- Ensure Title IX training is provided for students and employees (faculty, staff, and administrators) with specialized training for investigators, fact-finders, and panels.
- Oversee the intake and investigative process and ensure that it is prompt, effective, and equitable. Appoint and supervise the Title IX investigators and oversee investigation efforts. Ensure provision of initial remedial actions; assure compliance with timelines; ensure delivery of appropriate notice of charge, notice of hearing, notice of outcome, duty to warn, and remedies, and ensure a repository for and source of institutional record-keeping.
- Ensure the institution maintains an organizational file of all complaints and other records regarding Title IX compliance including annual reports of the number and nature of filed complaints and the disposition of said complaints, data collection, climate assessment, and pattern monitoring.
- Serve as principal contact for government inquiries pursuant to Title IX.
