**Position Summary**:
**Essential Duties**:

- Ensure regulatory compliance by monitoring wastewater treatment plant processes and maintaining proper plant balance to include adjusting chemical feed rates, pumps and other plant equipment
- Complete multiple plant inspections, collect samples, and troubleshoot process and equipment
- Monitor pump operation, record pump readings and program timers
- Assist with the reclaimed water delivery system
- Assist laboratory technician and perform laboratory analysis
- Maintain plant appearance by cleaning and providing maintenance assistance
- Perform assigned duties for odor control, hygienic, and safety purposes
- Utilize various types of machinery and equipment including forklift, backhoe, lab instruments and general office equipment
- Monitor supervisory control, and data acquisition (SCADA)
- Utilize work orders to report problems related to operational equipment
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled work orders as assigned
- Maintain current operations records and files
- Provide on-call response on a rotating schedule, and perform related tasks as required to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

**Qualifications**:
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and experience equivalent to two (2) years in operations and/or maintenance of a Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Licensing, Certification, and Other Requirements:
Must possess an Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification or be able to obtain within one (1) year of hire. Must obtain Grade II within 18 months of obtaining Grade I and must obtain Grade III within 18 months of obtaining Grade II.
