Description:
The SRM U/V Coating Helper will operate and assist at the Washing/Drying Station, UV Coating Station, and Stencil devices for continuous operation in accordance with mill policies and procedures. The employee will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.

Working Conditions:
Working conditions are the same as the conditions provided in the pipe manufacturing industry. Working environment temperature is in parallel with weather conditions. It requires working in dusty, noisy, and greasy environments. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds, and standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

1. Qualifications:
1.1. A High School diploma or GED equivalent.

1.2. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.

1.3. Experience with operating automated equipment preferred.

1.4. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools, and hand-held measurement devices.

1.5. Open to multi-tasking and cross training.

1.6. Ability to work in harmony with coworkers.

1.7. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time and weekends when necessary.

2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Responsible for Washing/Drying, U/V Coating, and Stencil machine set up during size changeovers.

2.2. Ensure the coating parameters conform to the quality requirements on the work order.

2.3. Ensure the other parameters of stencil conform to the requirements on the work order.

2.4. Controlling/managing the paint stock.

2.5. Read work orders and quality requirements to set up specifications and information.

2.6. Responsible for cleaning and servicing printers and nozzles during downtime.

2.7. Tracking of U/V and Stencil consumables.

2.8. Perform a visual inspection before the beginning of the shift and report any issues to Supervisor and Engineer.

2.9. Understand machine mechanical functionality, and conduct in depth cleaning of Coating when scheduled.

2.10. Learn and practice good lock out/ tag out procedures,machine equipment, and set ups during changeovers.

2.11.Keep and track the consumption of coating material to a minimum.

2.12.Ensuring suitability of pipe surface quality.

2.13.Communicating and working together with the other workstation operators.

2.14.Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.

2.15. Employee must follow the 5S implementation procedure.

2.16.Communicate to Supervisor and Engineer any problems with material and equipment.

3. Activities:
3.1. Checking/reviewing work orders.

3.2. Checking coating thickness and measurements of pipe surface quality.

3.3. Preparing and feeding consumables.

3.4. Employee must report to his immediate Supervisor and Engineer for briefing on daily tasks.

3.5. Provide and assist with maintenance on the equipment he/she is operating.

3.6. This position may require operating a Forklift and Overhead Crane.

3.7. Keep the work environment clean and tidy.

3.8. Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shift.

3.9. Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.

3.10.Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.

3.11.Assist in changeovers and maintenance.

3.12. Other duties as assigned.

4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop all SRM pipeline operation at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety, quality, or priority.
