Description:
The Hydrotester Helper shall operate in the functions of hydrostatic testing of pipe in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.

Working Conditions:
Working conditions are the same as the conditions provided in the pipe manufacturing industry. Working environment temperature is in parallel with weather conditions. It requires working in dusty, noisy and greasy environments. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

1. Qualifications:
1.1. A High School diploma or equivalent.

1.2. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.

1.3. Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery, hand tools and handheld technical devices.

1.4. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and hydro test instruments is a plus.

1.5. Ability to work in harmony with coworkers.

1.6. Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.

2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Responsible for the hydro-testing of material in conformance to the required specification.

2.2. Loading/Prepare the required Hydrotest Head at changeover time.

2.3. To ensure product meets the required specifications throughout the first and last article of the hydrotest process.

2.4. Understand machine mechanical functionality, and conduct in depth cleaning of Hydrotester when scheduled

2.5. Learn and practice good lock out/ tag out procedures, machine equipment, and set ups during changeovers.

2.6. Working in partnership with the SRM Hydrotest Operator and following their instructions.

2.7. Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up.

2.8. Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.

2.9. Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.

2.10. Assist in the charging and discharging of material on racks.

2.11. The employee is responsible in assisting with documentation and or technical devices for recording testing and findings.

2.12. Communicating to Supervisor and Engineer any problems with material and equipment.

2.13. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.

3. Activities:
3.1. Check all equipment is working efficiently and set-up correct parameters before the start of shift.

3.2. Make sure the area around the Hydrotest equipment is safe to start production.

3.3. Provide and assist with maintenance on the equipment he is operating.

3.4. Keeping the working environment clean and tidy.

3.5. Communicate with crew and other departments to achieve a quality product.

3.6. Assist in the verification and recording of testing and findings in the MES System and/or required documents.

3.7. Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.

3.8. Other duties as assigned.

4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop the hydro test operations in cases of Safety and/or Quality being in question.
