**A. OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB**:
To greet and assist visitors to the Municipal Center in-person or on the telephone. To perform varied office work to contribute to the smooth operation of Administration and serve the residents to visit the Municipal Center to conduct business. To provide assistance to the department of Community Development by entering and maintaining data in Municity, a cloud-based municipal software program, selling and tracking building, sewer, and other permits, scheduling building and structure inspections. To sell and accept payments for building, compost facility, and other permits as well as sewer and stormwater fee payments; to maintain a cash drawer for accepting these payments. To provide assistance to Parks and Recreation Department related to resident inquiries regarding pavilion rentals, sports leagues, day camp, etc., directing the caller to the appropriate individual.

**B. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB**:
1. Greets and assists residents and other visitors to the Municipal Center.

2. Enters and maintains permit and other data information in Municity.

3. Sells and tracks building, sewer, and other permits; schedules building and structure inspections.

4. Sells and accepts payments for building, compost facility, and other permits.

5. Accepts payments of sewer and stormwater fees billed quarterly.

6. Issues evening access fobs to representatives of groups who have reserved a meeting room; logs individuals’ and groups’ names and contact information.

7. Provides assistance to the Parks and Recreation Department related to resident inquiries regarding pavilion rentals, sports leagues, day camp, etc., directing the called to the appropriate individual.

**C. OTHER DUTIES OF JOB**:
1. Attends meetings, training, or in-services as required.

2. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

**D. SUPERVISION RECEIVED**:
Receives occasional instruction and some supervision from the Business Office Supervisor, Administrative Assistant to the Township Manager, and other Township Managers.

**E. SUPERVISION GIVEN**:
None.

**F. WORKING CONDITIONS**:
1. Works indoors in adequate office space, lighting, ventilation with fluctuating temperatures.

3. Normal exposure to indoor dust/dirt.

**G. PHYSICAL/MENTAL CONDITIONS**:
1. Must possess the ability to record, convey, and present information, explain procedures, and follow instructions.

2. Must be able to sit for long periods throughout the workday, with intermittent periods of standing and walking, occasional twisting, bending, stooping, climbing, carrying, reaching, and pushing as necessary to carry out job duties.

3. Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers/hands for typing and computer work to simple dexterity of feet/legs, torso as necessary to carry out job duties.

4. Sedentary work, with occasional lifting/carrying of objects with a maximum weight of 35 pounds.

5. Must be able to cope with the physical and mental stress of the position.

6. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and to concentrate on work.

**H. QUALIFICATIONS**

**1. EDUCATION/TRAINING**:
Graduation from high school or an accredited equivalency program is required. Technical school or other training that relates to secretarial and clerical functions is desired but not required.

**2.WORK EXPERIENCE**:
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required as evidenced through testing, including the ability to type 20 words per minute.

**I. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED**:
1. Must be able to speak and understand the English language in an understandable manner in order to carry out essential job duties.

Must possess the ability to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations.

3. Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Must possess the ability to function independently, have flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with Township residents, co-workers, and others, displaying patience and tolerance.

Must be proficient with or possess the ability to quickly learn Municity software.

7. Must possess the ability to compose general correspondence.
