Design - First Patternmaker (Temp to Hire)**

**Summary Description**:The patternmaker is responsible for draping, patternmaking, attending to alterations and fittings and working with sample sewers using drafting software or freehand measurement techniques.

**Summary of duties and responsibilities**
- Tailoring experience, excellent draping skills, and strong construction and sewing knowledge are a MUST.
- Ability to develop and execute; first patterns inspiration samples and/or sketches.
- Create pattern cards with detailed sewing instructions and pattern pieces; First through Production.
- Drape, draft, and issue cuts. Update sketch as needed for pattern card updates.
- Work with sample makers to ensure proper garment construction and to ensure pre-production samples meet requirements.
- Utilize plotter and help to maintain paper supply replenishment.
- As needed, review, clean-up, and convert DXF files to the Production team.
- Translate a 2D concept into 3D product by developing a pattern that considers fabric and construction to create the desired silhouette and size proportion.
- Knowledge of Technical Design tasks for Domestic Production; Preparing garment, spec, and generating tech pack for buyer approval (Shrinkage, screen, and sublimation test).
- Attending fittings, measuring garments and documents and implement changes for final pattern to release to factory.
- Revise pattern and pattern card according to buyer or designer call outs.
- Spec and fit approvals for pre-production, final production samples
- Data Management in PLM -Centric
- Attending customer meetings as needed.
- Special Projects as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Ability to effectively complete multiple tasks concurrently and deliver quality results under time constraints.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and Centric (PLM)
- Proficient in Optitex, Bronzeware and Clo.
- Knowledge and understanding of the product development process and the function of each role on the team.
- Collaborator, initiative-taker.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills; Must have effective communication and written skills.
- 4+ years minimum experience is required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
