The Design Assistant is an entry level position that will assist the design team to initiate and develop concepts each season that are reflective of the creative vision and Brand aesthetic.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the VP Design:

- (OS) Assists team in tasks needed to create jewelry and accessory designs
- (OS) Assists researching seasonal concept materials and color
- (OS) Assists team in conducting trend research
- (OS) Creates accurate spec packs under the general supervision and direction of the Senior Designer
- (OS) Adhere to Brand standards and upkeep
- (OS) Participate in Meetings with cross functional partners
- (OS) Use Illustrator and 3D in the performance of his/her duties
- (OS) Responsible for creating GIR images
- (OS) Responsible for supporting preparation of creative boards including researching, scanning images and building and maintaining tear libraries, storing and locating designs and artwork (Works in conjunction with coordinator)
- (OS) Develop an understanding of the brand DNA and do simple line extensions
- (OS) Work with the coordinator on Matrix needs, clean artwork for design presentations
- (OS) Maintains Illustrator library

Qualifications:

- (ED) BFA or Equivalent
- (LANG) Fluent in English: speaking and understanding
- (EK) Must be able to sketch concepts by hand, be proficient in 2D programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Power Point, Publisher or equivalent). 3D software skills (Alias, Solidworks, or Rhino)
- (EK) Awareness of competitive consumer goods market.
- (EK) Must possess a strong fashion sense and have the ability to interpret trends
