- Research in Advancing Community-based Practice and Improving Patient Care (80%)
- The fellow will explore current practices, procedures and resources within innovative community-based(outpatient) pharmacies, including independent, chain, supermarket, college health, ambulatory care, public health department and free and charitable pharmacy settings. The fellow will conduct research and provide innovative solutions for areas of improvement. The fellow will partner with student pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacists, as well as other health care professionals, to initiate new programs and to expand existing services; and provide fresh perspectives and insights that will directly influence patient outcomes. The fellow will drive organizational achievement of quality measures. The fellow will support practice partners in the development and execution of patient-related quality services and outcome-driven care management programs. The fellow will conduct practice-based research, including design, implementation, data collection, data analysis and dissemination.
- Develop Leadership and Management Skills (10%)

- Teach, Educate, and Disseminate Knowledge (10%)
- The fellow will provide oral presentations and written materials to pharmacists and other health care professionals. The fellow will network with and provide presentations within state and national professional associations such as the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). The fellow will employ effective precepting and feedback to students, technicians, pharmacists, and other health care professionals. In collaboration with academic and practice partners, the fellow will disseminate best practices and results of practice-based research through presentation and publication.**Minimum Education and Experience Requirements**
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree, completed a PGY1 Community-based Pharmacy Residency Program or equivalent experience, is eligible for licensure in North Carolina and is eligible to become a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner (CPP)**Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience**
