**The Reserve at Pearland Senior Living Community** is currently seeking a **Memory Care Director **to direct the Memory Care Program, ensures that company standards are met, and is responsible for management of the Activity programming budget. This position may train or direct memory care staff, working together with the Assisted Living Director. This position reports to the Executive Director.
**Essential Functions**:
- Directly oversees the delivery of services to Memory Care residents to ensure that emotional, physical, psychological and safety needs are met through all program services and activities.?
- May participate and/or offer feedback for family/resident care conferences and serves as a direct liaison between residents, families, and staff.?
- Schedules and conducts new resident orientation for all Memory Care Residents.?
- Plans, develops and implements Memory Care programming within the community as well as through outside trips and events.?
- Oversees the implementation of the Assisted Living activity program and supervises Activity staff. ?
- Surveys and interviews residents to determine their past and present interests and talents, as well as their satisfaction with the community’s programs and activities.?
- Recognizes the individuality, diversity, and spirituality of all residents when planning activities and celebrating holiday functions.?
- Develops relationships with residents to encourage their participation in activities that enhance their quality of and appreciation of life.?
- Observes residents’ function and behavior and reports significant changes or concerns to appropriate staff.?
- Performs work tasks in a manner that preserves each resident’s dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
- Utilizes outside community resources and independent contractors to enrich the variety of programs made available to residents.
- Plans and schedules dementia-related staff training programs and in-services for the Memory Care staff.?
- Develops and distributes the resident newsletter/calendar and other lifestyle programming communications on a regular and monthly basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
**Requirements**:
- **2+ years of Memory Care experience, including management, handling complex behavior issues and educating families.**:
- **2+ years related experience planning social and recreational programs, preferably within a memory care facility.**:
- **Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.**
