**Therapeutic Residential Program Director: Ivy Street School Foundations Program**
- The Ivy Street School (ISS) is a small, year-round, therapeutic residential school committed to advancing equity and access for young people living with disabilities and mental health challenges. - The Foundations Program is our residential program for students who require close supervision, coaching and skill development for self-regulation, management of mental health symptoms, management of peer relationships and skill development related to independent living and preparation for young adulthood._

**Foundations Program Director**

The Program Director of Foundations is, in consultation and conjunction with the Program Director of the Cottage Farm Program, responsible for the strategic planning, management, and supervision of the Foundations Program, working in tandem with the ISS Leadership Team to deliver high-quality services to our students and families.

Responsibilities include:

- Develops and maintains the structure of the Foundations Program to ensure student safety, student engagement and student learning
- Supervises residential supervisors, overnight team and Foundations Program Manager
- Participates on the Admissions Team to interview and evaluate student referrals
- Provides consultation and trainings to family and staff
- Collaborates closely with the student’s treatment team to ensure student specific treatment needs are addressed during residential time and to provide the residential perspective to student treatment teams
- Supports interviews, hiring and retention of all residential direct care staff
- Coaches and supports the residential team to prepare for and attend treatment and IEP meetings
- Functions as second (escalated) point of contact for parents/caregivers
- In collaboration with the Chief Program Officer participates in the preparation for program reviews with EEC, DESE and CARF
- Participates in Administrator on Duty rotation
- Participates in facilitation of Family Engagement and Learning Academy Opportunities
- Present for some evening hours at least until 7pm
- Supports the planning of weekend activities, after school activities and leisure engagement
- Participates on the Director’s team and weekly leadership meetings

**Essential Competencies include**:

- COMMUNICATION SKILLS_

Ability to write professionally and clearly. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, individuals, family members, and others. Ability to provide ongoing feedback to managers and employees. Ability to communicate effectively with the people we serve and their families, staff, co-workers, and others, as appropriate, in routine and crisis situations.

Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, employees, the people we serve and their families and guardians, and referring agencies. Ability to provide effective leadership and motivate managers and employees.
- PROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGEMENT_

Ability to define and solve problems. Ability to use sound judgment in crisis situations and in situations where limited or no guidelines exist. Ability to assist staff with decision making. Ability to respond appropriately to various crises, incidents, grievances, complaints. Ability to anticipate problems and plan proactively.
- A high level of personal drive and commitment, coupled with an analytic approach to identify strategic problems.
- Demonstrated and effective people skills and an ability to follow through on developing, implementing and following up with plans as envisioned.
- Strong management skills, including organizational skills and working successfully with competing priorities.
- Computer proficiency and the ability to write and interpret policies and reports, business correspondence and regulatory guidelines and requirements.

**SUPERVISORY**

Proven ability and experience managing, coaching, teaching, counseling staff.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**
- A Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study; Master’s Degree preferred.
- A minimum of three to five years’ management and other related experience required.
