The Energy Commission seeks an Electric Generation System Program Specialist I (EGSPS I) to serve as an ZEV Infrastructure Specialist and project leader within the Fuels and Transportation Division. The EGSPS I analyzes technology trends, market trends, and regulatory proceedings and develops proposed policies, programs, and projects designed to facilitate the integration of zero-emission medium duty and heavy duty (MDHD) vehicles and MDHD charging equipment with the electricity grid. Priorities include promoting interoperability within the electric transportation system, and the development of zero-emission MDHD vehicles and their charging equipment as electrical resources. The Fuels and Transportation Division supports California’s transition to electric transportation by leading activities related to analytical and modeling work, designing public funding opportunities, and crafting policy recommendations. These activities help electric transportation grow into a more convenient and accessible part of daily life for Californians and a key part of a resilient and carbon-neutral energy system.

Working Conditions

The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.
