- Department Information
- The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
- The DDS is located in a modern, sustainable and innovative office building at 1215 “O” Street, Sacramento, California. Some amenities of the building include:

First floor retail space (separate access from 12th Street)
- Café with multiple vendors
- Outdoor seating for meal breaks
- Employee fitness center which includes a yoga studio, cardio equipment and weights
- Plaza area with kitchenette on each floor
- Lactation rooms

Special Requirements

Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of: The Lanterman Act and the California developmental disabilities services system and state and federal budgeting policies and procedures. The successful applicant will have including applicable state and federal laws, policies, and regulations; federally funded programs; skills and experience working with people in a teamwork environment. Analytical methods, principles and techniques are essential to the successful performance of job duties, as is knowledge of human service systems and agencies. Research methods are desirable.
Ability to: Read and analyze laws, regulations, policies, and data indicators. Coordinate activities, provide technical assistance, and use effective research skills. Develop cooperative and constructive working relationships with other agencies, regional centers, service providers, consumers, families and other stakeholders; reason logically and creatively; analyze data and present ideas and information effectively; analyze situations accurately and take effective, appropriate action; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; work in a fast-paced environment and organize/prioritize workload to meet demands. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
